ALL ARE WELCOME
Located just 10 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, we are a tight-knit traditional community with a unique touch. Our minyan uses an orthodox prayer book and services are conducted primarily in Hebrew, but we do not have a mehitza and women participate fully. This is often called "trad-egal" for traditional and egalitarian. If you are not familiar with this concept, search for the group Hadar to learn more. Our congregation does not have a rabbi. We are fortunate to have skilled lay members who lead our services. We are not aligned with any particular denomination of Judaism. We have been an "indy minyan" for about 50 years. The Carnegie Shul was indy before indy was cool.
